9-Engine 4 Water Supply Responding from the Underhill Station, 9 Engine 4 allows us to provide a substantial flow of water, using a large diameter hose, to an emergency incident from a water source as far away as 2800 feet. As a 4WD pumper, 9-Engine 4 can be quickly converted to an attack pumper to gain access to narrow, steep, and icy driveways. 9-Squad 51 Squad 51 is used as a first response vehicle. During the weekdays our full time Duty Officer uses it to respond directly to the scene of any fire or EMS calls. This allows for quick medical care and offers a size up of the scene to incoming units. Weeknights and weekends the department's officers rotate turns and take the vehicle home to allow similar response directly to the scene of an emergency cutting out the time it would take to respond to the station to pick it up.
